KICK-START YOUR CAREER AS A LINEWORKER
Are you interested in becoming a lineworker? If you’re new to the trade, you’ll start out as an apprentice. Apprentice lineworkers generally need at least a high school diploma or equivalent and a driver’s license. For more information, find a Joint Apprentice Training Center, or JATC, in your area. JATCs are responsible for training lineworkers employed by local unions.
As a JATC apprentice, you’ll learn to build, repair and maintain powerlines and overhead structures. Apprentices receive paid, on-the-job training and pay increases with each step of the program. Upon completion, journeyman lineworkers have skills they can use to work in markets across the country.
In addition to field staff, we employ a variety of professionals in our offices, including accountants, IT specialists, human resources generalists, project managers, safety professionals and more. Search and apply for office openings on our jobs website, jobs.ilbinc.com.
